About the Hare

This hare is influenced by the idea of creating out in the countryside, a combination of the Cotswolds and Illustration, and created by the collaborative efforts of various students here at the University. This hare brings to light the character design passions of both it’s designers, a love for nature and drawing, as well as the combined work of an illustration team.

Rhiannon Fryer:

I am a first year illustration student aged 22. I am interested in printing, drawing and creating stories as I would like to become an author/illustrator and create books for children or graphic novels for all ages. My part of the hare design consists of a woollen jumper with sheep and fields in the Cotswold area. I thought it would be lovely to represent the Cotswolds somehow through our design.

Emily Shilton:

I am currently in my first year studying Illustration, aged 19. I have a love for narrative and character design, predominantly working in ink, watercolour and digital mediums. I look to take these skills into the area of Animation and Graphic Novels, telling stories through interesting characters. My part of the hare design is a reflection on this, giving life to the character as an illustrator and using a graphic style of solid-colour shading.
