The Cotswolds is an AONB with a beautiful landscape including flocks of sheep grazing on its green pastures. Many Cotswolds villages have a Sheep Street which dates back to medieval times. There are various breeds of sheep. I have chosen a sheep with legs and head of black/brown which is a nice contrast with the pale wool. The Cotswolds was renowned for its wool industry and it’s WoolMarket towns eg Cirencester, Stow on the Wold, Sheepscombe and Sherborurne. The hare is painted in heavy duty acrylic and varnish which is produced to withstand outside weather. The acrylic paint has a lovely depth and vibrance of colour

The Hare Trail is a great way of increasing tourism and travel within and to the Cotswolds and generously supports charities. It is a fun and rewarding event to get involved in as an artist.
