About the Hare

I chose the name Harevest as a play on the combined words Hare and Harvest. the Cotswolds is an AONB containing many beautiful fields, meadows and hedgerows. My hare depicts a hare peeking out of a cornfield with the lovely red poppies and wildlife (eg field mice and their nests, ladybirds, frogs butterflies etc) you often see in the fields. I chose the name Harevest as a play on the combined words Hare and Harvest. the Cotswolds is an AONB containing many beautiful fields, meadows and hedgerows. My hare depicts a hare peeking out of a cornfield with the lovely red poppies and wildlife (eg field mice and their nests, ladybirds, frogs butterflies etc) you often see in the fields. Plus the berries, fruits and flowers seen in the hedgerows during the summer and autumn ( eg blackberries wild roses rose hips seed pods etc).

The hare is painted in heavy duty acrylic and varnish which is produced to withstand outside weather. The acrylic paint has a lovely depth and vibrance of colour, the warm colours used are to portray the beautiful countryside and the head of the hare has been painted in a realistic manner.

I am a graphic designer, trained in Fine Art and Graphic Design at the Glasgow School of Art designed by Charles Rennie Macintosh.
In my spare time I paint in acrylics and oils plus occasionally multimedia. I also enjoy photography. I prefer to paint landscapes plants and animals.

The Hare Trail is a great way of increasing tourism and travel within and to the Cotswolds and generously supports charities. It is a fun and rewarding event to get involved in as an artist.
