Our hare represents the Air Tattoo in Fairford. We came to this idea because we live and go to school in Fairford, and as we were discussing our most prominent memories, associated with the town we concluded that the Air Tattoo is a big part of Fairford’s culture. Starting with the main feature of the hare, we included the Red Arrows, as they are the biggest attraction to the air show. The coloured smoke creates a colourful and interesting pattern. The gradient sky gives a visual interest, and due to the position of the hares head, we thought it would be appropriate to include stars. Linking in with the theme of flight, we decided to include flight goggles on to ‘RAF Hareford’. Due to the Red Arrows, we will also paint the inside of the ears red, to tie in with the theme. Along with this we will include grass and dandelions with seeds flying away. We plan to use acrylic paints and glue. The sky will be sponged on.

We are both students at Farmors School. We enjoy being creative. As children we spent a lot of time doing arts and crafts, and as we got older, we knew we would take Art at GCSCE. We took the subject into A-level to broaden our studies, and are thoroughly enjoying it. We thought this project would be a very good experience, and very valuable to our future in art. Growing up in and around Fairford, we have seen these hares all around the Cotswolds and have admired the designs. Because of this, we have always wanted to leave our mark. We are very good friends, so will work very well together, and the experience will be really fun. We believe this is for a very good cause and will benefit a lot of people.
