About the Hare
St Edward’s School’s submission for the AONB Cotswold Hare Trail is inspired by the music of Gustav Holst, who was born in Cheltenham in 1874.
Based on ‘The Planets’, a seven orchestral suite composed between 1914 – 1916, the hare displays all seven planets with a portrait of Holst himself. The painted hare is to promote the subjects of art and music taught at St Edward’s and celebrates creativity within the Cotswolds.
Zack Thorne is an artist based in Cheltenham and is currently working as a Teaching Assistant at St Edward’s School.
